MM54C90 Datasheet – 4-Bit Decade Counter

This post describes for the semiconductor MM54C90. This IC is designed to count binary numbers, typically from 0000 to 1111 (0 to 15 in decimal), depending on the specific configuration and mode of operation. It contains four individual binary counters, each capable of counting from 0 to 15 (0000 to 1111).

The function of this semiconductor is 4-Bit Binary Counter.

The package is 14 Pin type.

The manufacturer of this parts is National Semiconductor.

Description

The MM54C90 decade counter and theMM54C93/MM74C93 binary counter and complementary MOS (CMOS) integrated circuits constructed with N- andP-channel enhancement mode transistors. The 4-bit decadecounter can reset to zero or preset to nine by applying ap-propriate logic level on the R01, R02, R91 and R92 inputs.

Also, a separate flip-flop on the A-bit enables the user tooperate it as a divide-by-2, 5 or 10 frequency counter. The4-bit binary counter can be reset to zero by applying highlogic level on inputs R01and R02, and a separate flip-flop onthe A-bit enables the user to operate it as a divide-by-2, -8,or -16 divider. Counting occurs on the negative going edgeof the input pulse.

Features

1. Wide supply voltage range:  3V to 15V

2. Guaranteed noise margin: 1V

3. High noise immunity0.45 VCC(typ.)

4. Low power: Fan out of 2
